This photo beautifully captures one of Canada’s iconic landmarks; the lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove in the beautiful Maritime Province of Nova Scotia. This is of course a commonly photographed attraction, but I believe this photographer did an outstanding job. The wide depth-of-field keeps the textures of the granite and foreground vegetation sharp and vibrant leading one to closely explore the entire scene. The composition is also great with the focal point of the lighthouse in the 2/3rds 1/3rd position both horizontally and vertically. There is just enough fading light to gently bring out the texture and contours in this excellent photograph.
